Southill Community Energy is a new community benefit society. We aim to help local people and groups reduce carbon emissions. Our first project is Southill Solar, a 4.5MW solar farm that will create enough energy to power most of the homes in Charlbury, Finstock and Fawler for 25 years.  Join SCE by investing now!

The Southill Solar project is a great example of people’s enthusiasm for this technology. As costs come down even further, I look forward to solar competing against other technologies and continuing to be an important part of the UK energy mix.

Southill Solar

Southill Solar is our new solar installation. It will generate enough green energy to power the equivalent of all the homes in its three nearest parishes, Charlbury, Finstock and Fawler, for 25 years. After that, we’ll dismantle the solar panels and return the land to its original state.

Community Fund

Southill Community Energy will be run by its members and will create a community fund to enable it to invest in a range of local projects. You can become a member of Southill Community Energy by investing in our solar farm, through our share offer.

“I think the project is incredibly valuable in many ways and I’d also like to take this chance to thank you for being so proactive in setting it up and for all your hard work”
— Katrine Pringle, Charlbury resident
